Marvie Foundation Visits Rural Schools in Need of Assistance
Education is a fundamental right that every child deserves. Unfortunately, many schools in rural areas lack basic amenities that can improve the quality of education. In light of this, the Marvie Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to promoting education, recently visited several rural schools to assess their needs and identify areas where they can assist.
During the visitation, the Marvie Foundation team inspected school latrines, library, building structures, and other important amenities. The team visited Yandisu Public School and noticed that the school building needed renovation, teachers, latrines, chairs, tables, branches, and textbooks. Similarly, Kakata Public School lacked additional teachers, safe drinking water, textbooks, chalkboards, and stationery materials. The school also needed an office for the principal, a reading room, auditorium, and a playground.
The team also visited Bakuma Duwor Jalamai Public School, where they discovered that the school required four additional teachers, two principal offices, renovation, office chairs, chairs for teachers and students, textbooks, books for the library, a hand pump, latrine, blackboard, boxes of pens, a reading room, and stationary.
Lastly, William VS Tubman Public School was visited, and the team observed that the school needed completion of an auditorium, additional classes for senior high students,
two reading rooms, chairs for teachers, a student’s hand pump, latrine, textbooks, curriculums, sports materials such as jersey sets, football, a computer lab for students, playground, and stationery.
The Marvie Foundation team was alarmed by the poor conditions of the schools and the lack of basic amenities required for a conducive learning environment. The team pledged to assist the schools in any way they could and promised to work with local authorities to address some of the issues identified during the visit.
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and it is essential to ensure that every child has access to quality education. The Marvie Foundation’s visitation to the rural schools highlights the need for more organizations to focus on improving education in rural areas.
Education is not just about reading, writing, and arithmetic. It is about creating a better future for our children and giving them the tools they need to succeed in life. The Marvie Foundation’s efforts to improve the quality of education in rural areas are commendable, and we hope that more organizations will follow suit. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, and it is our collective responsibility to make this a reality.
